RC – Respiratory Congestion Essential Oil

RC Essential OilRC Essential Oil

RC stands for respiratory congestion. This is an essential oil blend.  The oils that make up RC include:

Eucalyptus globulus leaf oil, myrtus (myrtle) communis oil, pinus sylvestris (pine) leaf oil, origanum majorana (marjoram) leaf oil, eucalyptus radiata leaf oil, eucalyptus citriodora leaf oil, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil, cupressus sempervirens oil, tsuga canadensis leaf oil, and mentha piperita (peppermint) oil.

I discovered this amazing essential oil from a friend of mine.  She bought it because of her nasal congestion and wanted it to open up her nasal passages at night, thus to help prevent snoring.  I was over at her house very late one night and started feeling a scratchy throat and the “sick feeling” that you get.  I asked if I could try her RC.  I rubbed the oil on the bottoms of my feet and literally within 20 minutes, all of my “sick” symptoms were gone! A few weeks later we were together traveling and I started feeling the same symptoms, so I again asked my friend if I could use some.  I rubbed the oils on the bottoms of my feet and on my chest and all of the scratchy throat, mucus feelings in my chest disappeared.  After using RC twice and both times having immediate relief, I knew I had to buy RC for myself.

RC, an oil I will never be without!

I love the smell of RC.  If you like the smell of Eucalyptus, you will love the purity of this oil.  I love how the oils open up my nasal passages and take away all of my chest congestion.  I can feel the oils going deep into my lungs and clearing my congestion, within 20 minutes. I can place the oil right under my nose and in minutes I notice my nose clearing up and am able to breathe again! This is also a great natural alternative to use, instead of using over the counter ‘nasal sprays’ (if you use nasal sprays, I recommend using natural sprays).  I love inhaling this oil. I simply place a drop of oil onto my hands and breath it in.

I used to use Vicks. I would rub Vicks vapo rub on my chest and on my feet, until I found RC.  I didn’t know at the time that Vicks Vapo rub isn’t all that it claims to be. Interesting article I read on Vicks. Studies have come out showing more harmful effects than beneficial ones.  JoNel Aleccia, Health writer, states “Vicks VapoRub, the menthol salve used to soothe generations of congested kids, may actually make some little ones worse, a new study suggests.”

VapoRub only fools the brain into thinking airways are open, Rubin said, by using active ingredients such as menthol, camphor and eucalyptus oil that trigger cold sensors. In reality, congestion remains. Dr. Bruce K. Rubin, vice chairman of the department of pediatrics at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, N.C.

“I would recommend never putting the Vicks in, or under, the nose of anybody — adult or child,” said Rubin, whose work is published in the latest issue of the journal Chest. The Wake Forest researchers found that Vicks VapoRub increased mucus secretion by about 60 percent. It also decreased the function of cilia, the tiny, hairlike structures that help clear the passages, by 36 percent, the study showed (this entire article can be found at:  http://www.msnbc.msn.com).

After reading about Vicks, you might be asking yourself, “What do I use now?  What else is there to help with this cold/congestion?” “What can I rub on my feet at night and on my chest to help open my lungs and nose and enable me to sleep?” My choice, my answer… RC!

What is RC?

RC is an all natural, pure, potent, therapeutic-grade oil which is safe to use for both children and adults.  If you are looking for a healthy alternative to congestion medicines, this is a great choice. RC is extremely effective against allergies, colds, bronchitis, respiratory congestion, flu, cold sores, pneumonia, sinusitis, sore throat, mucus, coughs, lung congestion and bone spurs.

I no longer use any over the counter medicine for me and my family.  Mankind’s first medicine, essential oils, work!  I love knowing that I can rub an oil onto my children’s chest and feet when they have a cold, congestion, allergies, and it helps them heal and there are no harmful side effects.  Essential oils get to the “root” of the illness, they don’t mask the symptom.  The oils bring healing to your body on a physical, spiritual, mental and emotional level.  Medicines do not do that!  They have harmful side effects and the list is endless.  The drugs you take for congestion will harm your stomach, colon, liver, and other parts of your body.  The long term results are worse and cause more stress on your body than good.  Many of our ‘health’ problems stem from the medicines we take, as well as the foods we eat, and beverages we drink.

Click to buy RC here (under the category essential oil blends).  The bottle has 250 drops… a little goes a long way! Most bottles last an average of 2-6 months depending on how many drops are used per day.

I love RC and how it helps take away our sinuses and nasal/chest congestion.  If you are looking for an alternative to drugs, I would highly recommend RC.  Please post any questions or comments below and share the love of this information by clicking the Facebook and Twitter button!

Hello! I am new to young living. I just bought RC for my two year old boys. How do you recommend I use it on them. Or should I just diffuse it.

I recommend you purchase a reference guide so you can know how to use your oils! Also, where did you purchase it? Are you a YL member? If so, your upline should be your support and help. Diluting the oil is fine especially on young children.

Hi. I am wanting to diffuse RC for my hubby who has asthma.
How do I set my Pro diffuser for the best result ? How many minutes on and off ?

I don’t think there are any rules per say. I just set mine according to how I want it to run. Feel free to play around with the timer. Possibly ask your upline what they recommend. I vary mine depending on what oil I am diffusing and the condition. Apply the oils on him as well as diffusing.

I have used Vicks for years and my mom used it for us. Sorry, but as a family we have little faith in doctors and one had told me it does nothing. While it does not cure, it certainly does bring relief and aid in sleeping with a stuffy nose. We also prefer something natural verses man made and I will be purchasing the RC, thanks for the enlightenment. .
