Kids in the Kitchen Link Up Week 19
This week we are making Egg Strata Casserole. I never make this except at Christmas time, but I had all the ingredients and the desire to make it just encouraged me to step out of the box and have it in June… no need to wait until December Is this a favorite Christmas tradition for you as it is for me and my family? Do you have a different breakfast casserole dish you can share with us?
How to Make Egg Strata Casserole:
9×13″ casserole dish
8 slices 100% whole wheat bread, crust removed
4 organic eggs
1 1b. organic sausage
1 1/2 cups milk (we use unsweetened vanilla almond milk)
1 teaspoon mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
dash of pepper
1/2-1 cup organic cheddar cheese (we use nondairy version)
Cook sausage in a pan over the stove.
Place your bread on the bottom of the pan.
Mix all the ingredients together (milk, eggs, mustard, salt, pepper). Pour this mixture over the bread. Next add your sausage. Sprinkle cheese on top.
Bake at 325 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Do not overcook. Slice and serve with fruit. Enjoy!
